Staff Writers Number Needed: Open Description: Being a staff writer requires involving oneself in every facet of the site: submitting article ideas, coming up with news articles, providing opinions for improving the content of the site, helping other writers with articles, etc. Staff Writers are given the privilege of writing on any topic they want to, but must display sincere commitment to the site. All this occurs in a regular basis. Staff Writers may eventually be promoted to editors. Requirements: Firm mastery of the mechanics of the English language, including an understanding of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and complex sentence structure; a general flair for composition; and the ability to submit at least two articles per issue. A writing sample will be required before one will be accepted for this position.
Contributors Number Needed: Open Description: Contributors, much like staff writers, are not limited to writing solely about news or entertainment. Unlike staff writers, however, contributors do not submit regularly. Contributors may wish to become staff writers eventually. Requirements: Firm mastery of the mechanics of the English language, including an understanding of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and complex sentence structure; a general flair for composition; and the ability to submit at least one article per week, or several every few issues. A writing sample will be required before one will be accepted for this position.
Entertainment Writers Number Needed: Open Description: Entertainment writers are people who preview, review, and write about the entertainment world: since Renegade Monkey Nuns is an entertainment and humor site. This involves previewing or reviewing movies, music, television shows, video games, web sites, etc. and providing a concise description of whatever they write about. Entertainment writers may wish to become staff writers eventually, or may be promoted to Entertainment Editor. Requirements: Firm mastery of the mechanics of the English language, including an understanding of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and complex sentence structure; a general flair for composition; and the ability to submit at least one article per week, or one per issue. A writing sample will be required before one will be accepted for this position. Must be able to watch many TV shows, music videos, movies, and listen to many music records.
News Reporters Number Needed: Open Description: Daily reporters commenting and parodying (is that a word?) real news stories or making up news stories themselves. Examples of good, humorous news reporting can be found at The Onion and The Daily Show Web Site. News Reporters may wish to become staff writers eventually, or may be promoted to News Editor. Requirements: Firm mastery of the mechanics of the English language, including an understanding of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and complex sentence structure; a general flair for composition; and the ability to submit one or more news articles every week. A writing sample will be required before one will be accepted for this position. |
