It
seems that today more than ever, people's musical
tastes vary greatly. In the 60's it was rock,
70's it was disco, and the 80's it was hair
bands. In the 90's, however, we've had a little
of everything: grunge, pop, rock, and heavy
metal. With the new millennium upon us, it seems
like variety is the operative word when speaking about
people's musical tastes.
At
CDNow,
you can browse through thousands and thousands of CDs
and, with the help of the site's "Album
Advisor," find out what other people have bought
with a particular CD. Examining the Album
Advisor reveals that sometimes people's musical tastes
are not limited to simply one genre.
"Holy
Wood" by Marilyn Manson

Everyone
knows about Marilyn
Manson. He's the terrifying rocker
who sings songs about eating, killing, raping, and
poking people. He's just plain odd. What
may be even more odd is why people would decide to buy
the following albums along with Manson's "Holy
Wood."
"Thriller" by
Michael Jackson

Hailed
as the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson has had some
trouble outside from his musical life since
"Thriller" came out. His face has
changed dramatically and he has been accused of
pedophilic acts. Hmm... I wonder if Michael
bought these following albums for his, uh, little
friends?

"Music" by
Madonna

People
who buy Madonna's albums are often longtime pop
listeners, who also happen to be gay. So, it's
sort of odd to see those people buying the following
albums.
"Bad
Hair Day" by Weird Al Yankovic

Al
has built a career upon rewriting popular songs.
For example, Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise"
has been transformed into "Amish
Paradise." And Michael Jackson's "Beat
It" has been cleverly changed to "Eat
It." Still, if you buy a Weird Al album,
you wouldn't normally buy the following CDs along with
it.
"Metallica" by
Metallica

Often
referred to as the Black Album, Metallica's "Metallica"
gave the band the recognition many fans thought they
deserved. Nevertheless, the following albums
wouldn't normally be categorized as "Albums Heavy
Metal Fans Would Buy."
